Community altars, shrines, and remembrance tables are spaces for community members to connect and heal together. Altars can support and heal pain in a creative way, while honoring the lives of the people we love. Sometimes conversations about brutality and death can be difficult with our youth and young ones.Yet death and violence on Black bodies is something our youth hear and constantly consume through media. Let’s dignify their understanding with support and care. And remember, they’re not too young to talk about race. In this group creative project and story, for us by us, educate, create, reflect, and remember collective Black greif.
